Lots of deliveries

This week the plants have been arriving in the post thick and fast. At the weekend, Petunia Harmony, which I promptly potted on and today Verbena Waterfall, which again I have potted on and left in the tunnel to recover. This weekend it got really cold again and we even had some hail showers, so I am reluctant to risk putting anything outside. The poly tunnel really comes into its own at this time of year. Inside, it feels snuggly warm and the lettuces that I planted a couple of weeks ago are shooting away. The rocket salad, I think may even be ready to start picking in a few days.
When I went in to water today, I was very excited to see some tiny shoots on the dahlias that I planted two weeks ago. It never ceases to thrill me at this time of year when new shoots appear, one easily forgets the chill of the Winter.
The tulip bulbs that I planted in the Autumn are still showing promise. It is interesting that, down in the valley, they are in full bloom and up here at 800 ft everything is behind including my bulbs. My tulips are looking healthy, but still green, so I look forward with eager anticipation to their display.
